Summer Residential Staff Employment Opportunity
Tusculum University Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math and Science seeks caring, open-minded, hardworking and flexible applicants for summer 2024 residential positions. Tusculum University Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math and Science is an intensive college preparatory program funded by the U.S. Department of Education, designed to encourage college entry and completion for area high school students that are income eligible based on the federal guidelines and/or will be the first in their families to obtain a four-year college degree.
Summer staff will be required to live in the dorms at Tusculum University, supervising and mentoring high school students. This summer employment opportunity will include 1 week of training, 5 weeks working as a residential advisor, mentor, and classroom aid, and 1 week supervising students on an end of the summer trip. This schedule will be subject to change at any time and applicants should be flexible; having other employment during these 7 weeks is not recommended. Base pay is $2,000.
Interested applicants should have at least a 2.5 GPA and should have completed their sophomore year of college by the time of employment. Successful applicants must be willing to work with students from a variety of backgrounds and demonstrate a strong desire to serve as role-models to students. The positions will tentatively run from May 21st, 2024 through July 3rd, 2024.
