Dr. Susan Monteleone joined Tusculum University as associate professor of biology in 2017. Her teaching experiences span from general biology courses to upper level biology electives related to ecology and aquatic biology.
Dr. Monteleone has been engaged in research initiatives that include ecological studies in Marshall Forest in Rome, Georgia, one of the few remaining urban old growth forests in the United States. In 2016, she was awarded a grant from the TriBeta National Honor Society to fund and encourage student participation in undergraduate research. She has a history of fostering and encouraging undergraduate research projects at a variety of institutions.
She has been featured in a variety of publications and has presented at numerous professional conferences, in many cases alongside her students.
