About the Program
The Free Enterprise Scholars Program is housed within Tusculum University’s School of Business. The program supports students as they move from business idea to viable venture while developing professional judgment, ethical reasoning, and practical business capabilities.

Program Requirements & Academic Offerings
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50Remain in good academic and disciplinary standing
- Attend at least 80% of Free Enterprise Center meetings each semester
- Participate in Spring Free Enterprise Pitch Day
- Actively engage with assigned cohort and business mentors
There are two tracks to qualify for the Free Enterprise Scholars Program.
Business Majors
Declare the Concentration in Free Enterprise & Entrepreneurship within your degree program.
Coursework includes:
- Political, legal, and economic foundations of free enterprise
- New venture creation
- Business plan development
- Applied experiences linked to Pitch Day
Non-Business Majors
Declare the Minor in Free Enterprise & New Venture Creation (18 credit hours).
The minor includes:
- BUSN 208: Business Essentials
- Core free enterprise foundation courses
- Venture creation coursework
- Applied entrepreneurship experiences
