Charlesey Charlton-McCallister joined Tusculum College in 2013. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking from East Tennessee State University and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Middle Tennessee State University. She also holds Adobe training certification in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator from Digital Training and Design Inc. in Dallas, TX.
Previously Ms. Charlton was a graduate student and instructor of record at East Tennessee State University, adjunct instructor at Northeast State Community College, and adjunct instructor at Walters State Community College. While working as an adjunct instructor at NESCC she curated and organized an art show (“Adjunctability”) that included all adjunct art faculty working at the College that traveled to four different venues in upper East Tennessee and South West Virginia, that included the William King Museum in Abingdon, VA and the Tipton Street Gallery at ETSU.
Charlesey has sold her artwork private treaty to private collections all over the United States and England through various galleries. Her work is on permanent collection at the Gray Fossil Site Museum in Gray, TN, MGM Studios in Hollywood, CA, and at the Reece Museum in Johnson City, TN. She is a member of Southern Graphics, College Art Association, Ride and Tie Association, Tennessee Cattlemens Association and American Endurance Ride Conference.
She is currently working on a body of work that recalls natural objects interacting with man-made objects found regionally and locally, the methods being used to complete the work includes Photography, Printmaking, and Graphic Design. This body of work will be submitted to several organizations, museums, and galleries for solo exhibition in 2015-16.
